Rough Ryder knives were already a little bit special but now they have been elevated to legendary status thanks to the Rough Ryder Reserve line. The quality has gone up a significant notch. The D2 steel blade and precision manufacture would ordinarily mean a high end price tag but with Rough Rider Reserve you get a high end product with a not so high end price.

The Rough Ryder Reserve Kayak is a modern take on a traditional canoe pattern. Designed by Andy Armstrong, it features two D2 tool steel reverse tanto blades with a brushed satin finish, deep swedging, half stops and match strike pulls. This swell center canoe has natural tan canvas Micarta handles, brushed stainless steel bolsters, brass liners, and nickel silver pins and the Triple-R Arrowhead shield. At 3.625" closed, it's the same size as most traditional canoe pattern knives and it weighs 3.5 ounces. Comes packed in a collectible Rough Ryder Reserve Tube Tin and includes a Rough Ryder microfiber cleaning cloth.

    Rough rider reserve kayak

Posted by Zed on 27th Dec 2020

Wow , this life's build quality is spot on, perfectly centered blades, fit and finnish all smooth and flush, great walk and talk , defantly a better quality RR , not that there is anything wrong with the cheaper ones as there a great bang for the buck pocket knife and I carry a few, but this I know was built in a different factory and it shows, it's got the feel of a custom folder , D2 steel, micarta scales and brass liners, and a nice spear head shield , I'm a fan of the blade shape as well as perfect for whittling and carving, D2 will hold a edge well , the blades are even on phosphorous copper washers, defantly recommended this knife .

    RR

Stunning quality, but I’ve never seen the sense of a beautifully shaped handle on a two blade knife... the folded blade always blocks it? To an extent, the buck canoe allows a finger in front of the folded small blade, but this one doesn’t seem to? If they ever bring it out as a single blade option it’ll be in my pocket like a shot.

    RESERVE KAYAK

Posted by Kristan on 27th Nov 2020

My 3rd RR... My first 2 have noticeable QC issues, they're OK, but a little janky... This RESERVE Kayak however is really, and I mean really difficult to fault. I have knifes costing thrice as much and they are of no better quality than this. Feels and looks great. A few hotspots but nothing major but it's expected with this style of knife.

    RRR kayak

Posted by Tc on 26th Nov 2020

I had high hopes for this knife after watching a few YouTube reviews but unfortunately my one falls short of the mark-especially for nearly £70. Don’t get me wrong it’s a lovely little knife but there’s a couple of fit and finish issues that mean this knife is not in the same league as GEC if that’s what your after. The bolster lines are uneven and the back springs sit quite proud in all positions closed, half stop and open. It is a considerable step up in quality for RR but not fully there at this price point.
