Everyone's favourite penknife design, the Barlow, has been around for centuries. The Rough Rider Barlow Buckshot Bone perfects the form whilst evoking the history of this ultimately functional pocket knife.

It has two blades; a clip point and a pen blade both made from 440A stainless steel and sharpened to a hair splitting edge. The handle is made up of "Buckshot" bone with nickel silver bolsters and brass liners with a red trim. So not wholly without an aesthetic appeal!

It's a cracking little knife which will serve you for a lifetime and is legal to carry within the UK.

Brilliant knife for everyday usage,The finish is excellant and Sharp as can be,Only thing i can fault it on is 1 rivet protruding more than i'd like it to but otherwise i'm very pleased with the quality and overall finish,Brilliant Knife and a bargain too.

    Nice but flawed

Posted by JC on 25th Jan 2022

This two blade Barlow is a lovely looking knife. The combination of clip point and pen blades is perfect for a general purpose knife. The buckshot scales are nice and the red liner is classy. The blades are nicely centred, the half stops are great and the overall appearance is great. However, the clip point blade cutting edge was badly dented which has taken me some time to grind out. Also some of the scale pins are rather high making it slightly uncomfortable to hold and there is some minor gapping along the liners. If you get a good one, these are great knives and well worth the money.

Purchased as my working pocket knife (rural pest control) I can't speak highly enough of this traditional knife, well made, holds a good edge and is easily sharpened, oh it's very too. All for 20 quid.

    Lovely, but one minor frustration

Posted by Ryan Curtis on 13th Apr 2021

Lovely size, weight, excellent build quality, one of my favourites. Only small annoyance is that the nail nick on the main is partially obscured by the smaller blade. Not sure why they didn't just put the nick on the other (blank) side of the blade!
