The manufacture of Puma knives dates back to the mid 18th century in Solingen, the knife capital of Germany, when Johann Wilhelm Lauterjung trademarked the Puma name in the knife makers role of Solingen.
The Puma Waidblatt is a stunning example of the quality craftsmanship that has seen the Puma knife company achieve great succes over the past century and a half.
The blade is a hefty slab of 1.4116 stainless steel with a Rockwell hardness of 55-57 meaning it is easy to sharpen and will withstand some heavy use. The handle is made up of two scales of stag bone which accommodate the full tang design. The finger guard, butt end and liners are brass.
It is supplied with a dark green, leather belt sheath.
