A great product to get your fire going when the basics is all you have. Included is an arrowhead striker and flint in a 9 x 7 x 2.5cm tobacco tin with enough room for your tinder too. The arrow head striker also acts as a bearing block for a bow drill if that is your preferred method of producing fire.

    Top notch Pathfinder product

Posted by BH from BELGIUM on 18th Oct 2016

    Outstanding piece of gear.

    1. Make your own charcloth (Youtube will teach you in a few minutes)

    2. Strike the steel towards the piece of flint

    3. There comes the miracle: a single spark falls into the charcloth, becoming a tiny, growing, glowing amber. That's all Folks.

Note that when I bought the kit, I had absolutely no experience in making fire this way.

Presently, 5 to 10 strokes are enough to start a fire...

I love the beautiful -useful- arrow design. Straight edges make it easy to deal with a ferrocerium rod.

The hole sets a perfect handhole for the bow drill method. A 8 x 6 cm piece of leather will protect your hand from heat. This piece of leather will also prevent any ratling in the tin.

One little gripe, though: come on Pathfinder, don't be so skinflint. Fill the kit with a second piece of flint...

Perfect service from Heinnie, as always!

PS. Sorry for the broken English: French speaking FlintStone...
