The Nitecore LA10 CRI has a maximum output of 85 lumens from the Nichia 219B LED and is powered by a single AA battery, either alkaline or NiMH.

The CRI version of the LA10 offers the same excellent practicality as the original model, but offers a high CRI LED to provide better colour rendition and to reduce eye strain when using.

The LA10 CRI is operated by rotating the tail cap to turn the light on and off and to adjust the output. The torch has three brightness levels, ranging from 9 to 85 lumens, plus a location beacon mode. The adjustable diffuser can be retracted when packing or storing the light.

The innovative design features a magnetic tail cap that allows for quick attachment to metal surfaces and a lanyard to hang, suspend or fasten the LA10 creating a pendent light that does not require holding.

Brightness Levels:

  • High: 85 lumens - 1 hr 30 mins runtime

  • Mid: 30 lumens - 6 hrs runtime

  • Low: 9 lumens - 23 hrs runtime

  • Plus Location Beacon mode.

Maximum beam distance 10 meters, waterproof to IPX-6 and resistant to impacts up to 1.5 meters. Includes: spare o-ring, wrist lanyard and 1 x single use AA battery.

    Ideal for camping and blackouts

Posted by PaulB on 11th Aug 2020

This is a great little camping lantern. I use mine under my tarp when hammocking and find it gives just the right amount of light. It is very durable and the ability to wind the lantern part back into the main body ensures that it is protected. It can also be used as a lower lumen torch. The only minor downsides are that it is a little large to be a keyring torch, and not quite bright enough to read by, but overall those are very minor issues.

    Quality

Posted by Woodhead on 30th Dec 2018

A nice small robust lantern that feels well made and looks great. The lipstick mechanism allows you to control the lights output radius and the lanterns 3 light modes give you adequate options for light coverage depending on the size of tent or room your in and how many people need the light. The lanyard and magnet give you a good choice of light positioning and even on high more, the batteries last as quoted in the leaflet. An excellent bit of kit and great HH service as usual

    Keyring winner

Posted by Norman Price on 25th Sep 2018

Excellnet key ring light and gives off a cracking glow to save my door when wood pecking at the wee hours trying to find the keyhole. Light and tough, get a really clever designed light whilst you can.

    Nah

It's a lovely piece of kit, well made, good weight, nice mechanism. But it isn't bright enough to provide even relaxing light in a one man tent.

    Excellent mini lantern.

Posted by Mr. Pond. on 7th Mar 2018

This little flashlight has a very useful and quite powerful permanent magnet in the tail cap and also a lanyard hole in the base. These combine to give the user more or less endless methods for attaching this mini-lantern to pretty much anything. This in turn makes the LA-10 useful for all sorts of things: an inspection lantern, illuminating a tent, attached to the body of a car to help with changing a tyre at the road side, the list goes on and on. The light is not much bigger than an 18650 battery and the plastic cap that provides even 360-degree light retracts in to the body, so the torch can be very easily slipped in to a toolbox, crammed in to a spare corner of a backpack, again the list is more or less endless. The light doesn't get particularly hot even at maximum brightness and has a very useful lifetime before needing a fresh battery. If I was being very nit picky, my only criticism would be that the near-perfect colour balance, or accurate white light, put out by the LED is somewhat pointless for nearly all the tasks this light will be used for, and does somewhat limit the output and battery life. That being said, one potential use for the LA-10 could be as an emergency light source for medical emergencies, for which I suppose having very accurate colour spectrum light could actually be essential. If you need a small, tough, waterproof lantern with decent output, decent run time and endless ways to mount it to stuff, this is an excellent choice. Very highly recommended.

Nice solid little bit of kit

Posted by PaulB on 4th Feb 2018

I bought a couple of these (when Heinnie first started stocking them) to use as "electric" candles as we are blighted with powercuts where we live. They have been used regularly in the home and on camping trips ever since. They are robust, lightweight and easy to use and have performed faultlessly throughout. I would not hesitate to recommend this product for home or outdoors.

    A very useful light

Posted by PaulB on 12th Dec 2016

I am quite impressed with the LA10, it provides more than enough emergency light for a room and the diffused torch function works quite well. 5/5 from me.

    Handy bit of kit

    Posted by Paulhw100 on 11th Oct 2016

Really useful little thing, a nice alternative to a torch, only the size of a lipstick but quite powerful. I quite like nitecore as a brand, they don't ooze quality like olights but I've found them to be functional and robust. I think it's a steal for the price.
