Mcusta Katana Black Blue

I had been looking at this black/blue Mcusta katana for a long time and had to wait for it to come into stock. I very nearly opted for one of the other colours and was also considering a different style knife but then I had a notification from HH that it was in stock earlier than expected and immediately placed my order. When I opened the package I was taken back with how this knife looks. For me personally it just looks awesome and feels great in the hand. The colours in the handle just pop out and the blade is perfectly centered when the knife is closed. Opening is silky smooth and the blade is incredibly sharp out of the box. It takes hair off the body without any effort whatsoever so some degree of care should be taken when handling the knife. The katana could be classed as a gentlemans folder and it looks like it will perform well with most household tasks. In my opinion there are only a couple of points that are not really problems but rather observations. The point at the tip of the blade is insanely sharp and caution should be applied if using the knife for prying as the tip may get damaged and if it slips it will potentially cause serious injury to badly positioned hands. Also the thumb studs sit on the aluminium handle when the knife is open and over time they may mark but this is no deal breaker. I am incredibly happy with this purchase and will be buying more Mcusta knives for my collection. HH could consider reviewing their stock of Mcusta knives as there are lots more made that are not shown on the HH website. I had emailed HH and was told that custom orders were possible which is fantastic customer service.

Beautiful detailing, quality materials used and very smooth folding action. Blade is centred and sharp out of the box. Absolutely rock solid lock-up. I shared photos of this and instantly had compliments. I like Japanese styling and although its not a heavy duty knife as a gentleman's folder, its perfect. Would make a great gift. Do not hesitate to get this for yourself though....it's a keeper.

Really wanted one of the purple ones but now very glad I bought the Black/Blue. Ordered yesterday, arrived today, top service HH. Once again the pictures don't really do this knife credit, it is an absolute jewel. It opens and closes very smoothly and the lock engages with a satisfying click. The blade itself is razor sharp and attractively patterned.There is no play in the pivot and the blade centering is perfect. I can't really fault this knife.
