The MAXPEDITION Fatboy S-Type Versipack was originally designed for Search and Rescue work, the S-type allows for the additional attachment of the CP-L Radio Holster or any other MAXPEDITION accessory pocket in place of the cellphone pocket on the standard Fatboy. In addition, the Fatboy S-Type rides on the left side of the body filling the need for a 'lefty' Fatboy and a grab-and-go gear bag. The following are the major differences between the S-type and the standard Fatboy:

  • (1) The footprint of the S-type is in the MIRROR IMAGE of the footprint of the standard Fatboy.

  • (2) The S-type has an additional anchor attachment point where the cellphone pocket is on the standard Fatboy. It also has a 2in wide Velcro loop patch on the front lid for attachment of ID patches.

  • (3) The S-type provides more modular capacity than the standard Fatboy with three anchor attachment points.

    Handy bag

Posted by Matt on 12th Feb 2020

Great overall bag, I use mine to carry either my drone or camera, it also fits a 4 pack in perfectly. Its got great organisation built in and can fit a lot for a small pack. My one complaint and the only reason I won't give it 5 stars is the I am not a fan of the waist strap but this is a minor issue considering the overall practicality of the bag.

The S should stand for superb

I have attached an M2-waistpack & a Janus pouch to the shoulder strap, the main compartment has two seperate mesh dividers, the secondary compartment you can put all your wallet, passport, mobile, pens & any multitool, there's a nice waist belt which stops the pack wacking your side when running. You can adjust the shoulder strap to have the pack directly under your armpits or low enough to sit on your mid thigh & I'm 6ft.I'm now looking at an L.E.O. Version.

Great value from a great pack

I have had mine for a few years and ive beaten the c%*p out it, its been all over the world with me and has come out of certain situations in better shape than i have, It takes a decent load for a small pack but you can fit enough gear in it to get by comfortably. I now use the monsoon gearslinger as my needs have changed but the fatboy is in pretty much the same condition as when i bought it, only dirty as hell. GET ONE
