    Marbles Bolo Camp Knife

Posted by Kevin Colwill on 29th Apr 2021

I bought this knife from Heinnie way back in 2013 and it's still going strong. I've hit stones and concealed bits of metal that put the odd nick in the blade but it still does its job of chopping up small kindling and general clearance around the garden. I even use it to keep coniferrs in shape - loads faster than shears. Still takes and for me holds a good edge. I look at the machetes costing ten times the price and know I'd cry if I so much as scratched the blade. This is a real hardworking knife and I wouldn't be without mine.

    Blunts too easily

Every time I used this parang I had to file and resharpen the blade., it now looks like it's serrated!

Super sharp and load of blood

    Posted by christie1 on 14th Mar 2015

This was my first purchase from Heinnie Haynes, To be honest I had heard the name before but never knew what they did. I searched for a garden machete I couldn't buy from [online auction site] and their name came up. I found what I wanted but browsed the site before ordering, I kept seeing reviews banging on about their legendary fast delivery and quality of their kit, so ordered at 4,30 in the afternoon with just standard delivery of £2. At 8.15 the following morning my order turned up. This was only 1st class post, but what impressed me was that the lateness of my order still ensured it was posted that day. I actually got an email from them to say my order had been dispatched before the email to say I had paid. My order was for the Marbles orange machete with a sheath, after super gluing the cut on my finger from testing the sharpness, I hacked away all morning at brambles and a few stumps with no dulling of the edge. the sheath takes the blade and most of the handle, which stops you getting tangled up in the undergrowth. I honestly don't believe I will need to look further than Heinnie Haynes for any of this type of kit again.

    marbles machete

Very nicely balanced machete with lots of uses .. from a health and safety perspective for this to be fully seated in the sheath only half the handle is visible and be careful taking it out. .. as due to not so false edge it is very possible to cut yourself ... as I did twice !!! I've also bought the jungle bowie machete and can't fault Marbles products .. this review is mainly to save people injuring themselves with this machete as it is very sharp out of the box !!

    Great for the money

Posted by Kevin Colwill on 2nd Sep 2013

Very nice if basic item. Solid, not too heavy and not too big to use in confined spaces. It was sharp enough out of the box although I couldn't resist tickling it up a little. I can't say what it's like in the tropical jungle but it'll chop through a finger thick hazel rod in one and it makes light work of bramble bashing. The orange colour makes it hard to lose when you put it down for a second. All in all a good buy along with the superb service so many reviews mention.

    Just perfect

Posted by Michal on 14th Apr 2012

I've just bought it, and it is perfect for any tasks for machete. Thin blade swings through the branches as through air, nice edge and good handle, altogether with sheath costs £27 odd...I like it, compare with some Condor blades, it is very good player!! I bought with a sheath and I strongly recomend it!! Service, as usually, perfect!! 5/5
