    Good but needs work

Posted by The Rhodesian on 16th Aug 2020

Nice little cleaver... but... On my knife I found the sharp edges of the handle were really uncomfortable, ten minutes with a needle file rounded all the sharp bits off and it became very comfortable in the hand. The blade edge left a lot to be desired, reground the bevels and sharpened and you now can shave with it. Steel is not super duper great but highly useable, no real complaints there. The finger choil extends beneath the cutting edge so if you're cutting on a flat surface, you're going to struggle. I ground the choil back so now the blade edge lays flat on the cutting surface. 30 minutes work turned an okay little 4 * cleaver into an awesome little 5 * cleaver. For 30 quid I have no complaints. HH service is legendary, I can add no more to that!

I love this knife, can go wrong for the price!

I love the cleaver type. But honestly at this price you really can’t go wrong.Full tang!! So ok it’s not razor sharp out the box but 2 mins on strop and it’s now great. In fact I loved it so much I bought anther 4!!! Once I’ve got done with the wet stones this was so sharpe it would cut the hair off a flys nut sack. So one in the kitchen , one in the studio, one for wood carving and one for the heck of it. Would make a great gift so get them while they have em for the price. Many thanks HH very cool

This is a no brainier, but it!!!

I bought this knife to use as I like the look of it. I am a serious collector so this would be a bit of fun for the money. After the great service as usual for HH, A1!
So when it came I had to put my profile edge on it and wow. What a great knife. So I kinda got carried away and bought and other 4! So yes now I’ve got 5 of them. Kitchen, studio, house and garden use I’ve still got one to play with.
Full tang , great feel, nice and solid. Would make a great gift but I’ll keep mine to myself. As a gift lol.
But honestly you will love it and it’s cheap as chips so what are you waiting for. Cheers hh

    Excellent knife for the money.

Posted by Stephen on 10th Jun 2020

This little chopper is an absolute value for money knife. I haven't used it yet.
However, I have played with it for awhile taking it in and out of the supplied sheath.
The blade on mine is very well ground at the edge. With a very nice shapely blade. I'm not sure if I'm going to use it for anything special, other than just leave it as part of my collection, either way I'm really very pleased with it.
The sheath tends to get in the way a little. Putting it back is a bit fiddly and requires attention to what you are doing.
I must admit to finding balistic cloth sheaths a nuisance. I much prefer leather or kydex style sheaths. But possibly an upgraded sheath for this knife would be overkill.
However, having said all that, If you buy one, I don't believe that you will be disappointed.

    Surprisingly good

Posted by Brett on 16th May 2020

Ordered yesterday arrived today and I can only say I’m pleasantly surprised by how good this thing is. It’s very well made has a nice weight to it and the edge is sharp ( not perfect bevels but that can be sorted) the g10 handles look fantastic and the belt sheath is more than adequate.
It’s a nice competition chopper style blade and for the price your not going to go wrong

    Compact little cleaver

Posted by Richard on 16th May 2020

A nice little cleaver. Came reasonably sharpe out of the box and after a few turns on the strop was hair popping. Ordered on Friday after after a restock update and arrived Saturday morning at about 1030. Outstanding service for £2 delivery. Used today to cut and pry at a mini keg project I’m working on. Held up well and felt robust whilst prying. At less than £30 plus postage it’s made to be used and abused. Nice handle and surprisingly comfortable even with my large hands. Even gave it a go in the kitchen to dice up some crispy bacon just because
