    Pretty little damascus knife

Posted by singleagain on 8th Jan 2018

The knife arrived either first thing this morning or yesterday - whichever it was this was the 'normal' super-fast delivery I always get from HH.

This is a lovely little knife, delivered in a really nice metal tin with a cardboard sleeve outer. As one of the reviews on YouTube says, the packaging is so good it would make a great gift.

For a small knife, the ergonomics are pretty good, comfortable in the hand and with nice gimping in the right place. It goes without saying that the bolsters and blade are very pretty, although I am not sure that it was necessary to write '71 Layers' on the blade. Not super sharp out of the box/tin, but that's easily fixed. Butter smooth one-hand opening and a nice solid lock. I think there are some washers in there somewhere.

I am particularly impressed with the fit of the ebony scales. On a number of knives with bolsters I have seen a noticeable 'step' between bolster and scale. I may have been lucky, but on my knife the fit is perfect.

Another point worth mentioning is that this is a surprisingly heavy little knife. There are no figures given in the specs, and I don't have a set of scales, but as an indication, it is noticably heavier than my Dan 2 with Ziricote scales. Consequently it feels very solid in the hand.

All in all, a great little knife at a sensible price.

A real thing of beauuty. The only way to appreciate this gorgeous little knife is up close.

Best looking EDC pocket knife I've ever owned.
