If only Lion Steel, those genius Italian knife makers, would turn their hand to a top of the range slip joint, UK legal carry folder...well they have and it is a joy to behold!

The Lion Steel Bestman has all the exceptional qualities one has come to expect from a manufacturer of such class. Plus the design Lion Steel have produced evokes classic forms of the past whilst at the same time creating a knife perfectly suited to the 21st century.

The blades are bang up to date M390 stainless steel with a nail notch on both sides and both have a beautifully streamlined shape. This version of the Bestman model has two blades to choose from; a clip point and a wharncliff. And if that weren't enough Lion Steel have added a touch of hi-tech luxury with the addition of carbon fibre handle scales with stainless liners and a subtly rounded backspine. The bolsters are made using 6AI4V Titanium.

    An exception knife

Posted by Ryan on 17th Jan 2021

I've had this knife for around a year now as an everyday carry knife, replacing an old Wenger Swiss which has now been retired. The quality of the knife is exceptional, no wobble on the blades, the movement is precise and closes with a satisfying snap. The steel its self seems good quality. It can hold an edge pretty well - I've only had to give it a light sharpen a couple of times. As for the knife as a whole, I was worried it might be a bit bulky being double bladed, but it fits in the hand very nicely. The version I purchased had ebony scales as opposed to carbon, however, the black complements the matte finish on the steel nicely. While quite pricey for an EDC, I know this will last a lot of years, so for me it was a worthy investment.
