    Big Knife!

Posted by Paul on 9th Dec 2019

A friend of mine got this for me: Everything about this knife feels BIG! The beefy handle provides some serious grip. The weight is good and feels very comfortable in the hand. Love the satin finish on the blade. Not razor sharp out the box but a few minutes with a carbide honer.... The sharp right-angled spine is perfect for striking a ferro rod. This knife makes you feel like you could chop down a tree with it - Serious bit of kit! A little more thought could have gone into the sheath but at £19 who's gonna care??

    Incredible value!

    Posted by Mario64 on 9th Dec 2019

I bought one of these based on the reviews as much as the price! Arrived the day after I ordered it! (Typical Heinnie Haynes delivery service - I just don't know how they do it!). Anyway, as I opened the box it came in, my mouth fell open, and all I could say was "Wow!". An incredible knife for the money. As others have said, it won't win any beauty competitions, but perfect for the job as a bushcraft/campsite knife. Again, the scales needed tightening, but that was all. Nice leather sheath too - this could have been a little tighter fitting, but I'm being picky! Well worth the £21 (inc. postage). In fact I went and ordered two more (one as a back up, and one for a friend, who was delighted, incidentally). Again, they arrived the following day. Looks like I bought the last two 'coz they're out of stock again! - which doesn't surprise me.

    Desrves 6 stars

Just got this @ HH's/Royal Mail 24 hrs. Tracked breakneck speed. WOW! Wotta chunk of steel! I can't believe this only cost £19. The sheath alone is worth a tenner. Also, I don't think it's ugly OR basic, just magnificent! I know the steel isn't fancy but you can't have hi-spec steel at this great price. This is one of the best value knives on this site. If you need something beefier than a Mora type Bushcrafter then you can't go wrong with this. A true bargain!

    Great bushcraft knife

I recommend this knife for bushcraft use. It will out perform any other knife at anything near this price.

    simple, sharp and sturdy

Posted by Dave on 9th Jan 2018

it's big, beefy and effective. it will handle any task you ask of it without breaking a sweat. the handle although very basic is comfortable and gives a feeling of confidence whenever you pick it up. the sheath is a simple leather sheath which is nice and secure as well as being good looking. if you're looking for a no frills general purpose knife then this is the blade for you.

    A Fantastic Buy!

Posted by Tricky on 25th Dec 2017

I can describe this knife in one word ''solid''. The scales are two lumps of micarta bolted to the side, not pretty but well shaped, feels good in the hand and the grooves on said scales make it pretty grippy. The blade is a honking solid, thick piece of metal but the hollow grind should compensate for that. At this price range I expected the sheath to at least be junk but it's not, it's OK, a big belt loop, stitched together well enough, perfectly functional. If I was to be hyper critical the grind isn't the best but a quick go with a diamond rod and strop will sort that out, the scales are a tiny bit out of line on the pommel (almost unnoticeable) and there's a tiny bit of rattle when the knife is in the sheath (a minor annoyance). Not a big fan of honking great big pry bars but this knife is outstanding, fantastic, knife , fantastic price!

    Awesome

Posted by Daz on 13th Nov 2017

For the price this really is a brilliant buy. It is a solid bit of kit with a full tang, giving peace of mind when in use. The blade is nice and thick surprisingly. The grip is basic but still feels good in the hand, although it is missing a lanyard hole, but one can be drilled easily enough. The rivets are Torx fitting and both of mine needed nipping up, but no big issues for me. It was sharp straight from the box, with a slight smear or oil protecting the surface. The sheath is leather, and seems capable. Worth the money in my mind for a general use camping knife.

    Hidden gem

Posted by Jon on 7th Aug 2017

This is a proper working camp knife. No frills, it's not 'pretty', it's just a huge honking knife that is designed to perform camp and general bushcraft duties. The leather sheath works, but wont win any style or design awards. If you want all your money to go on the knife and not on design gimmicks, this is the knife to buy. It's a real hidden gem.

    Build like a tank!

    Posted by K on 19th May 2017

Very strong, sturdy and simple knife. Perfect size. Came sharp enough. Giving 4 stars as grind on both sides of the blade is different , this crooked tip a bit, but nothing what cannot be fixed on the sharpening stone.
