Leatherman OHT

The tool itself is excellent and of the best quality, i feel weathermen let themselves down with the quality of the holster in that none of the loops on the back of the holster fit any mans leather belt by about 5mm so am having a leather one made.

A replacement for a series of Waves over the years. Very impressed with its build quality and the selection of tools contained within. A year of ownership has seen me using it most days and thus far, my only issue is the knife blade which refuses to hold a decent edge and chips quite easily despite hard but careful use. The notch at the heel also prevents prolonged slicing along materials as its gets caught in the notch. Otherwise, a fantastic tool

Bought this as a replacement for my Gerber - which BROKE! I have had Leathermans in the past and had decided to try Gerber for a change. Forget Bear Grylls favourites. Go for a Leatherman. This particular one is outstandingly robust. The finish is superb and the whole thing is make in the US. Unlike Gerber which makes them in China. The OHT is a serious workhorse. The one handed function is as easy as it shows in the video. And quite a nice feature. It is kitted out with all the tools that you are most likely to use and not filled with gimmicky ones that you will never use. Only - buy Leatherman. I still have my Leatherman multi tool that I bought over 20 years ago on my boat and it works as good as the day I bought it. A little tlc with sentry solutions or Japanese camellia oil is all thay is needed.

Although probably the least military person in the UK I ordered the tool last week to replace another make I gave to a friend of mine. I think it?s terrific value for money, considering it?s USA-made unlike a similar model from one of Leatherman?s competitors who have it not only produced in China but also charge a much higher price. It feels reassuringly heavy and the (lockable) pliers slide out with a smooth action and open up straight away, ready for action. All the components lock into place and can be used with the pliers retracted ? a slight resistance when opening them is surely intended and most welcome. Retracting them requires a bit more pressure on the locking device and again this must be the designers? idea of how a tool which after all is of military specification should work and does indeed work with perfection. Highly recommended, even for non-military people!

Well made, as ever from Leatherman, but lacking in functionality. I misses out the obvious need of a pair of scissors (maybe not easy to achieve one handed, but surely not impossible) and instead replaces that wth two knife blades. The tools are quite stiff to extract and the ones on the 'reverse' for a right handed user are very hard to achieve opening with one handed. So - 5 times out of 10 you use both hands. Which kind of defeats the point... It seems strong and well finished, sharp tools and well built. But give me a Charge TTi any day of the week.

I have been waiting for the OHT to arrive in the UK since seeing them last year on you tube. It is a Really Good Full sized Multitool. It has all the general tools you might need to use on a MT, Recommended !
