Not just for electricians, great for bushcrafters too

Posted by Infozhed on 19th May 2020

Added one of these to my basket when purchasing other items. Thought it would be ok to use in a bushcraft type situation. Glad I did.

For the money it’s well constructed and sharp out of the packet.

Made a short video about it for my YouTube Channel if it’s of any interest to you.

Have no idea how Henie make any money on this knife.

I have been purchasing items from Hennie for a few years and in my experience, not only do Hennie have fantastic customer service but they deliver really quickly. They are so quick at dispatch I almost expect a bing bong at the door as soon as I have confirmed my order. Lol

    Thank you Hennie.

You get what you pay for

Posted by Romeo on 24th Apr 2020

Can't knock it too hard at this price but If I had paid full price at £12.95 I would have been disappointed.

After a day of light use the knifes pivot screw had worked itself loose and part fell out. I saw it happen and was able to retrieve the plastic pivot cap and screw. Upon closer inspection the machining on the pivot screw is terrible and the metal used soft and easily stripped. It looked like it had not been properly threaded in the factory. This is typical of cheap Chinese produced knives. I removed and re-set the pivot with Loctite super glue to hold it. Works well now so it's still worth the money paid undoubtedly.

Otherwise, It is a nice ergonomic design that is a good addition to the toolbox.

    Heinnie great service as always...
Lansky work on your QC please.

    Incredible Value

Posted by Daddy on 9th Sep 2019

Took the advice of one of these reviews and added this knife to my order for a technical pen. £5.99 is peanuts for a knife in any bodies book, but when it arrived and it was of such quality my ghast was truly flabbered. I have a Lansky World Legal knife which I think is incredibly well made and sturdy, so perhaps I shouldn't be surprised at the quality of this one. Such a good size, comes very sharp, no nonsense no frills just sturdy and practical. By sturdy I mean the handle feels very solid and the blade opening and closing is firm yet easy to open. Great for fishing, general duties in the shed and garden, and around the house.

    Bargain utility knife for DIY

Posted by SigSi on 29th Nov 2018

This is a good, sturdy, no-nonsense utility knife for those times when you need a longer blade than a Stanley knife, and for less than a fiver it's an absolute bargain “ in fact, I'm going to buy a couple more to keep in different toolboxes.

Shapewise, it's very much like a traditional jack knife, with a large amount of the blade spine left exposed when the knife is closed, making it easy to open, though without a thumb stud this can't really be done one-handed. The one-piece nylon handle is lightweight, without any steel liners. It's smoothly curved and nicely textured for grip, with no exposed screws or other metal parts.

It's a good size, with a total blade length of about 3 3/8 (90mm), although the main cutting edge is only 2 1/4 (55mm) “ I'm not sure whether this makes it UK-friendly or not. There are curved and flat notches for stripping round and flat cables. The straight Wharncliffe blade edge was a bit rough out of the box, but a couple of minutes with strop and steel refined it nicely, and at this low price I'm not complaining.

Great utility knife and a sub-£5 bargain to boot!

Posted by Chaddlehanger on 31st Oct 2018

Added this to my last order just out of interest as the reviews seemed good for such a cheap tool. It turns out to be a bit of gem. Sturdy blade which sharpens up beautifully. Good slip joint action. Feels good in the hand. Perfect for those jobs you can't avoid but would rather not risk damaging your decent EDC. Have ordered a second for the kitchen draw. Total bargain at under a fiver. I can highly recommend adding one to your next purchase.

    More than expected

Posted by Terry on 31st Oct 2018

For just under a fiver, what a great knife. Larger than I was expecting, sharper than I was expecting and really well made. Love the blade shape, just be careful when closing, it really is that sharp.
Of course great service from H H.

I had to sort the kitchen electrics and as a p**s take I bought one of these knives and other assorted cheap electricians tools to goad an electrician friend into helping me. He did not so I cracked on. By the by I used the knife a lot it works brilliantly is well made and sharp.
Now I have stopped playing with electrics it is still one of the most useful tools to cut banding string ties and anything I want ! Fantastic knife and a bargain .
    Usual quick delivery fron HH.

    Great utility knife

Posted by Hullblazer on 25th Jun 2018

Currently working in a kitchen and wanted a cheap knife that I wouldn't mind being damaged.

This is a sturdy item but lightweight and comfortable in the hand. The handle gives great grip even in the dampness of a 50 degree-C kitchen.

Arrived razor sharp and is handling packaging, vac-pacs and reticent sauce bottles with ease.
