Michael Vagnino is a knife maker of great repute and a real flare for design.

The Kizer Vagnino Zip Slip is a UK legal carry folder with a non-locking, slip joint mechanism. As a working tool for your pocket it is second to none.

The S35VN stainless steel blade ensures a razor sharp edge and the thumb hole means engaging the blade extremely straight forward with one hand for when you have your hands full. Plus the back spine includes a notch that stops the blade halfway during closing.

The titanium handle is a very attractive feature which not only looks great but affords the hand a secure grip. The low carry clip means it will ride low in the pocket.

    Great UK EDC choice

Posted by David Howell on 12th Nov 2024

Want S35VN and beautiful Titanium scales in a UK legal EDC for under £100. Can't think of anything else that can give you that. The walk and talk and fit and finish are really good!

    Really nice knife

It would be a 5 star, but mine didn’t come with those fancy screws, so you don’t get exactly what you see on the picture.

I've wanted this knife for ages but the titanium style handle held me back. But after buying it I'm more than happy with it and the titanium handle style is way better than a plain one. I really like it and should or bought the knife ages ago. Action is very smooth with a decent amount of spring tension, blade is razor sharp, pocket clip is better than alot and not mega tight from the start. Overall it's a cracking UK EDC legal knife and it's going to get used a few bit. As always top service from Heinnie Hayes A++

When people describe s35 steel as a great edc steel I laugh,, it's a good steel whatever knife you have, please stop copying other reviews. The knife itself is great and has a good degree of fiddle factor, the price is good as all the kizers are, and the materials are well manufactured,, sharpish enough and the box it comes in is stellar. But please people's be original in your comments

    Slight presentation improvements

Posted by Jason on 4th Aug 2020

First thing I've bought from HH and extremely happy, not least with the fantastic customer service! For the knife in particular, I agree with everything the other reviewers have kindly mentioned (yes, including my only criticism that the 45° angle they've ground inside the thumb hole makes it slippy though that just means you have to develop a knack in opening). However in all ways this knife is a beauty. A couple pleasant surprises though! All of them positive changes. 1. The box was different: a really nice presentation and really premium compared to what I've seen online. Included was the Kizer cleaning cloth but printed and folded neatly into a card and just the right size. 2. The nylon pouch was plain black and again much better than the odd camo one. Thick material but more fitted to the profile of the knife. In other words not a big camo purse. It's also felt lined to caress the objet within. 3. Perhaps my favourite change is the pinwheel joint bolt has gone. While browsing this knife I did think that with the pattern of the grip that the pinwheel clashed kind of like wearing a striped tie with a striped shirt. Well this is now plain and to my eye perfects the look. I've looked at everything under magnification and it is just superb in every aspect. Marvelous thank you.

    Elegant little blade

Posted by Mud on 3rd Aug 2020

This ticks all the boxes for a perfect EDC Knife. The Quality: 10/10 Top notch materials meet a tight production. No flaws, no blemishes. This is as good as production knifes from the far east can hope to be. The Carry: 11/10 for the pocket clip. Smooth, springy, matte titanium. Discrete deep carry. Extra point for the countersunk screws that make the operation extra smooth. Overall, with its size, form factor and rounded edges this knife is easily pocketed, sits tight until needed and then comes out smoothly. You won't feel it sitting there. The Folding: 9/10 for the operation. The back spacer that won't move is a nice detail with the spring on the inside that makes this adorable little ping when you pass the safety stop. The well placed thumb hole makes this a smooth knife. One point shy of a 10/10 because the thumb holes' edges are rounded off a little too well, so the purchase is somewhat lacking, especially with damp or wet hands. The Knifing: 10/10 The S35V is a great steel for an EDC blade. It keeps the edge reasonably well, but can be touched up quickly if needed. The back spring is not the tightest around, so the blade can fold with only a little pressure applied to the back, but the ergonomics dictate that you place your index finger into the choil that is half ricasso and half blade, thus preventing it from unwanted folding - just like the small Spydercos do. This is not a heavy duty knife anyway. The blade does everything you'll want from your pocketknife with ease and style. The metal scales give enough purchase - heavy work with wet hands would require a better grip, but this is not what this knife was made for. All in all, this knife replaced my UKPK with ease. I've carried it daily for months now.

    Exceptional build quality, highly functional

Posted by Bubble on 30th Apr 2020

Pretty much hits all the important points: top-notch construction, slips easily into a pocket, great ergonomics when open, very safe cutting action (finger choil + strong slipjoint), and the action is gorgeous to use. Only two issues: The "one handed" open is reliable, but it's also slow, awkward and slightly painful. I would have liked to see a thumb stud on this model to alleviate that a little. Also, the half-stop is weirdly late, meaning that you need an awkward hand position to avoid nipping your knuckles when you fold it closed. Small issues aside, it's honestly difficult to find a slicker, classier, more functional UK carry knife.
