The Kizer Critical Mini is designed by Christensen Knifeworks and features an impressive Wharncliffe blade made of CPM-3V with a thick swedge and ample jimping. 3V is an extremely tough steel which is capable of supporting a razor sharp edge and not succumbing to blunting even after sustained hard use.

The handle is made up of green G10 with a liner lock and a ceramic, ball bearing pivot resulting in a very smooth blade engagement. A black coated pocket clip is also attached.

    KIZER CRITICAL MINI

Posted by Gerwyn Weaver on 22nd Sep 2022

Yet another example of KIZER’s excellent quality work both in materials and in fit and finish. The piece is put together beautifully, the ergonomics are incredibly easy on the hand and you can easily use this piece for a hour or two without that dreaded hand hot spot feeling like it’s melting through to the other side. The grind on the blade is spot on with a excellent edge which is very sharp SOTB it could be a little bit sharper but when you’re dealing with a blade steel like 3V it is a good idea not for it to be like a razor SOTB as it could cause some very nasty accidents with people that are not used to how stunningly sharp this steel can be! Don’t get me wrong it is very sharp as it is but could be and you will probably add that hair splitting edge yourself. All in all a fantastic piece and well worth the rather low cost that it is going for. If you haven’t experienced 3V then get ready for a edge retention treat..

    Not to impressed

Got this as it was 3V steel and one I haven't had experience of the knife came fast as usual from heinnie. The knife it's self is well built easy opening and closing actually really smooth the edge for this price wasent great so I took it to the sharpening stones (something I seem to do allot of lately from HH) I am finding it hard to get an edge since it wasent dull I used a medium ceramic up to a fine one then green compound and smurf poo on the strop. It seems to have taken a jagged edge and while it cuts I am finding not cutting cleanly. I am shelving the knife untill I get the time and patience to work it again. I think I wouldn't have been as botherd buying it on the 2nd hand market as I would expect it to be dull initially but buying it new and not having a decent edge is pretty disappointing
