EMERSON AND KERSHAW MEANS TOP FUNCTION, FIT & FINISH

The CQC-6K features a modified clip-point blade for versatile cutting ability. The blade has two finishes: a satin finish on the grind and a stonewashed finish on the upper. The handle's front scale of textured G-10 offers a secure grip and the handle's stainless steel back has a solid frame lock.

The CQC-6K is a manual opener using either the thumb disk or the patented Emerson "wave shaped feature." This opening feature enables the knife to be opened as it is removed from the pocket. By the time the knife has been fully withdrawn from the pocket, the blade is deployed and ready for use. A small wave-shaped tab on the top of the blade is built to catch on the pocket seam, opening the knife as it comes out of the pocket. This instant-open feature is a favorite among military, rescue, and law enforcement knife users.

The pocketclip is reversible for left- or right-handed carry.

There is a choice of a satin or black coated blade.

    Love it

It's a cracking knife with a lovely feel in the hand. It's too big and tactical looking to risk carrying it as an edc here in the UK but well worth adding to the collection

    AN EASY 5STARS

    Posted by GRANT.E on 24th Mar 2016

AT £38 THIS KNIFE IS UNBELIEVABLE VALUE,THE BLADE LOOKS GORGEOUS WITH IT TWO TONES OF STONEWASH AND SATIN,BLADE WAS VERY,VERY SHARP,NOW WITH ONLY A LITTLE STROP IS EXTREMELY SHARP. THE CQC-6K FEELS REALLY NICE IN THE HAND,LOCK UP PLENTY SOLID ENOUGH FOR THIS SIZE OF KNIFE,FOR WHAT THIS KNIFE WILL GET USED FOR THE STEEL IS PLENTY GOOD ENOUGH. THIS IS A VERY WELL THOUGHT OF KNIFE BY MANY [MOST PEOPLE 5STARS]AND I CAN SEE WHY,I DONT THINK YOU WILL GET ANY BETTER FOR THIS MONEY AND LIKE ANOTHER REVIEW SAYS COULD EASILY BE MISTAKEN FOR A £100 er. IVE JUST ORDERED THE ZT0630 AND NOW IVE SEEN THIS BLADE I UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE GO ON ABOUT THE BLADE ON THE ZT[CANT WAIT] WILL NOT BE MY LAST KERSHAW/EMERSON THOUGH. THANX H.H..

    good

Posted by jertzy on 14th Mar 2016

I have an Emerson cqc7 which is expensive (I know) and I thought I'd try at least one Kershaw Emerson.
First off I'd like to say that obviously the quality is not up to Emerson levels of build or materials, but it is functional and usable straight out of the box. The build quality is good though and the centering on mine is nigh on perfect (with a little tweaking and maintenance)
My only slight complaint is that the lock up is very late. It's almost all the way across, but for a £35 knife it's more than you would expect and I have grown to love it (as is the way with some knives) So...yeah...it's a user and pretty damn good, especially for the price.

    To the letter

Bought Sunday, received Tuesday, props to Heinnie.

First knife I've bought, second I own, sort of expected it to be less than meets the eyes since it's a knife on the cheaper side, but everything is exactly as good as is described, sharpness straight out the box, sturdiness of the frame lock, practicality of the wave feature, how well it grips thanks to the G10, it's all as advertised and I truly didn't expect that. Don't know whether this is testament to Kershaw, Emerson or both, but I will definitely keep both names in mind for future purchases.

    astounding knife for the price!

Posted by juan sheet on 8th Nov 2015

I picked one of these up directly from Heinnie's showroom.

It is an amazing combination of design and build quality for less than 40 quid.

The build is flawless. Alright, there is a tiny wobble at the top of the grind on one side, a cosmetic issue. it shames knives 3,4, &5 times more expensive. Opening is slick, the lock drops into place with a satisfying click. Lock-up is solid and there is not even a hint of blade play. Heat treat on the 8crmov13 steel appears to be * on, sharpens up a treat and edge retention is surprisingly good. Other made in china knives with this steel have been a bit mediocre in my experience.

The combination of satin and stonewash on the blade is v cool. Emerson ergonomics are fantastic. I always wanted an Emerson when i was a kid. You do need to pay attention to the wave feature if you're getting the knife out in the office. it's difficult to be subtle with that lock clacking into place.

buy one, you just need it, honest you do.

I'm so impressed that I'm now on the hunt for a full spec' emerson. Sadly, you can't get a real emerson with a frame lock.

    Impressed

Posted by Dave on 14th Oct 2015

I am thoroughly impressed with this knife.

I always loved the Emerson designs, but at their price point they are not only outside of budget, but I would be afraid to use the damn things if I did get one!

This knife has the amazing Emerson design at a price point that most can afford.

The wave feature is nice in function and even nicer in that the thumb-ramp it provides is very comfortable.

I also like the thumb disc as it is just a little sleeker than a stud. Seems like it will get caught on things less and is just generally nice looking and functional.

The scale is nice and grippy and again looks nice - but could also be removed in favor of a custom scale if that's your thing.

Blade finish is lovely and was nice and sharp straight out the box.

Lastly, the lockup is wonderfully snug. There's is no play once the blade is locked into place and might as well be a fixed blade by this point. I've never had a folder with such a lovely snug feel when locked in place.

I love this knife already and will use it whenever the situation allows. It's a bit too tactical/scary looking for my usual daily EDC, but that just makes it even more of a joy when I do get to use it.

    Don't Hesitate

I don't know if I've been lucky but the fit and finish of this knife has far exceded my expextations,

It's a no brainer for less than £40 and only needs stropping to be razor sharp
