    RE ''OLDTWONINE''

    Posted by GRANT.E on 17th Feb 2017

CHEERS FOR THAT,IM SOUND ,LIKE YOU SAID ITS FULL OF HIGHS AND LOWS. WHAT DOES FRUSTRATE ME MOST IS THE MAIN DISAPPOINTMENTS IVE HAD WITH KNIVES 99% OF THE TIME ITS BEEN THE MORE EXPENSIVE ONES... I SENT MY SABENZA BACK, THE EDGE ON IT WAS SHOCKING. THIS WAS MORE OF A PRINCIPLE THING AND AS OF YET HAVNT REPLACED IT, I THINK THE MORE YOU SPEND THE MORE YOU EXPECT AND THE HIGHER THE DISAPPOINTMENT. ANYWAY CHEERS FOR THAT . AS FOR THE GUARDIAN LIKE I SAID PREVIOUSLY I GOT A MIRROR EDGE ON IT AND IT LOOKS GORGEOUS AND ITS FLIES OPEN SUPER SMOOTH, DEFF A COLLECTORS KNIFE BUT I DO LIKE TO TRY THEM OUT ASWELL WHICH IS WHERE I FOUND ITS LET DOWN. I HAVNT SHOWN MANY PEOPLE, BUT THOSE I HAVE COULDNT BELIEVE IT COST THAT MUCH ALTHOUGH ALL AGREED IT LOOKS MINT .. ANY WAY I DO WATCH JIM SKELTON A LOT [VERY GOOD] HIS VIDEOS ARE EXACTLY WHY MY BIGGEST SPEND THIS YEAR WILL BE A ROCKSTEAD. SORRY FOR TREATING THIS LIKE A FORUM AND WISH YOU ALL THE VERY BEST. GRANT

    FOLDERS

Posted by OldTwoNine on 24th Jan 2017

Hello GRANT.E - Speaking as one collector to another, we all get disappointed from time to time. This is just part of the highs and lows of collecting. This is what I do to console myself when I hit a low. I go to "Jim Skelton" on YouTube and checkout how much he spends on folders. All his folders are in the $1000 - $10,000 bracket, whereas, all mine are under $1000. I always feel so much better afterwards. Hope this helps.

    WISH I HADNT!!!

    Posted by GRANT.E on 30th Dec 2016

OK SO SPENT HOURS GETTING A DECENT EDGE,NOT A GOOD START,NOT FOR THIS SORT OF MONEY . I PERSONALLY DO NOT SEE THE POINT IN THIS KNIFE, TACTICAL?? SURELY ANYTHING BIGGER WOULD BE BETTER ,EVEN A BLOCK OF WOOD , EDC?? WELL OBVIOUSLY NOT LEGAL CARRY , I REALLY DONT THINK IT WOULD BE THAT GOOD AT EVERYDAY CHORES. IVE GOT MINE HAIR SHAVING SHARP WITH A MIRROR POLISH AND WETHER IT THE 2 DIFFERENT GRINDS OR THERES TOO MUCH THICKNESS BEHIND THE CUTTING EDGE IT WASNT SMOOTH AT ANYTHING[ NOT EVEN PAPER] WORK?? WHY CARRY A £400 KNIFE TO WORK , ITS TOO SMALL FOR MOST DUTIES AND GOD FORBID YOU BLUNTEN IT. SICK OF SLATING IT , TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY[GUTTING] THIS IS A GOOD LOOKING KNIFE AS PICTURED AND IT STOPS THERE.

LOOKS GEORGEOUS, BUT HAD TO PUT MY GLASSES ON

    Posted by GRANT.E on 29th Dec 2016

I DONT KNOW WHERE TO START REALLY,OK, SO FIRST ALL BEFORE YOU PART WITH NEARLY £400 OF YOUR HARD EARNED CASH ,YOUR GOING TODO YOUR HOMEWORK.. YOU WONT FIND MUCH IN THE WAY OF REVIEWS, I LOOKED HARD, THERE ARE A COUPLE BUT ALL THE OTHERS ARE THE OLD MODEL [PATRON] THEY ARE PRETTY GOOD BUT DONT MAKE YOU THINK 'IVE GOTTA HAVE ONE' WHAT ANNOYED ME MOST WAS HOW REVIEWS COMPARE SIZE WISE TO THE PARAMILITARY. FORGET THAT, THATS LIKE SAYING THE DOMINO AND DICE ARE NEAR ENOUGH THE SAME SIZE?? WHICH BRINGS ME TO ONE OF TWO OF'' MY ''MAIN DISLIKES. 1/ ONE OF MY FAVOURITE KNIVES, PERIOD IS SPYDERCO'S DOMINO,LOVE IT GOT 2 OF EM .. THE DELTRIX IS THE SAME IN NEARLY ALL SPECS IN SIZE. 'AND' YOU MIGHT ASK ... WELL I KNEW THE SIZE OF THE DELTRIX BUT IT REALLY DEPENDS ON HOW THEY FEEL. THE DOMINO HAS FLIPPER, C/F , GOOD STEEL AND ALOT MORE REVIEWS AND I GOT 2 FOR THE THE COST OF THE DELTRIX. OK MAYBE ITS SOMETHING REALLY SPECIAL EH? NOT NECESSARILY SPECIAL, MORE DIFFERENT ,MADE WELL. THE BLADE LOOKS AWESOME WHICH AGAIN MIGHT BE A PERSONAL THING, BUT THAT AND THE C/F WERE THE ONLY REASONS STOPPING ME GETTING THE G10 VERSION[ NEARLY £100 LESS] WHICH BRINGS ME TO MY 2ND ISSUE 2/THE THE SHARPENED EDGES, I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY ITS HOLLOW/ FLAT ROUGHLY 50/50 ?? ITS NOT THAT CHUNKY, LOADS OF YOU OUT THERE MUST HAVE LION STEELS TM1 IN SOME FORM[ IVE GOT 2],OR LION STEELS KURR WHICH IS SIMILAR[EXCELLENT BY THE WAY] OR AGAIN EVEN THE DOMINO , NONE OF THESE BIG SELLERS HAVE COMPLICATED GRINDS ,QUITE THE OPPOSITE,THESE ARE SOME OF THE EASIEST BLADES TO SHARPEN ,WHERE EVER YOU ARE. IMO I PERSONALLY THINK THEY HAVE TRIED HARDER THAN THEY NEEDED TO. THE DELTRIX HAS GOOD BLADE STEEL WHICH YOUR GONNA WANT TO GIVE SOME WHEN SHARPENING BUT THEN YOUVE GOT THE 2 X GRINDS AND THE FANCY BLADE YOU DONT WANT TO MAKE A MESS OF ?? IVE TAKEN CLIP OFF, THAT JUST MAKES IT FEEL SMALLER /CLUMSIER IMO.. T/ NITE IM SHARPENING SO ILL LET YOU KNOW. IM IN A PROPER LOVE/ HATE RELATIONSHIP WITH THIS KNIFE AT MO,WHICH IS RIDICULOUS CONSIDERING THE COST, SO ILL STOP THERE FOR NOW AND COME BACK AFTER SHARPENING..
