The CRKT Burnley Squid is a frame lock folding knife from designer Lucas Burnley of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Based on the concept of a compact carry, it's small in size and big on ability. Don't let the 2.25" blade fool you; this is a full-on, tactically inspired knife that's ready to take on your largest cutting challenges. By keeping it wide at nearly one inch and using the drop-point style, Burnley was able to give the blade a good balance of tip strength and point geometry for utility tasks, packing all the functionality of a full-size tac folder, into an easy to carry, compact design.

    Squid Goals

Love this floppy little sea spider. Tough, looks cool, 8legs, what more can you ask for. Inkredible EDC knife. KRAKEN BUY.

    Squid is great!

Back wash finish is nice. Blade nice and sharp. Nice small size in the pocket and just big enough in the hand for light tasks. Don’t think about it for too long, just buy it and enjoy - cheap enough to lose without causing too much sadness. Buying from HH is always a pleasure and highly recommended!

    Solid Knife

Awesome little knife, smaller than I expected but it’s a fantastic size. Fits nicely in the small right hand pocket you find in most jeans. Came really nice and sharp, packs a punch for its size. Love the blade shape too. Doesn’t have a lot of access to the opening bolt, so flicking the blade out isn’t too easy, yet still manageable. Thanks CRKT

    CKRT Burnley Squid

A very nice knife. My first, so I have little by way of a frame of reference, but the fit and finish are good and it's comfortable in hand. It does what I need it to and came at a reasonable price, so I'm happy!

    CRKT Squid

What a great little knife especially in the Blackwash finish. Gives it a look of age without the wear. It's small enough to carry without getting in the way but punches above it's weight in use. Highly recommended.

    Perfection

Posted by Yoji on 26th Mar 2019

I have many knives but there's one that definitely stands out. The CRKT Burnley Design Squid. A sub 3 inch bladed workhorse of perfection. Its available in a few different finishes. But the blackwash is definitely my personal favorite. It adds a slightly used but definitely not abused look to it. As if it's already been at home in your pocket but straight out of the box that way. It feels amazing in hand, a bar of soap is the best way to describe it. No sharp edges or corners that dig into your hand. Which makes it a pleasure to use and hold. Heavy enough to inspire confidence in it's rugged reliability. Yet doesn't weigh your pocket down. I added a simple Paracord lanyard to aid in the removal from my pocket. Dangle it from the lanyard and you will see where the name Squid came from. Aesthetically beautiful. It's tip up right handed carry. Which might be a problem for some but not for me. The blade lock up is reassuring good. Covering a good portion on the back of the blade, no chance of failing and cutting your fingers. With a 2.25 by 1 inch chubby drop point blade it's sheeple friendly. No one bats an eyelid when you flip it out of your open to tear into packages. Sure it maybe not be the toughest blade steel being 8Cr13MoV. But it holds a good edge and is easy to sharpen. Loads of fun practicing too! The opening and closing is buttery smooth, a perfect one hand opener. And the blade centring, its just perfect, something I've not found on knives quadruple it's price. Which brings me on to one of the key factors knife collectors and enthusiasts look at price. It's £24.95 right now on here. For under £25 you really can't get better in my opinion. In fact I'm probably gonna buy another to add to the collection. Stonewashed finish this time I reckon tho.

    Excellent lock knife

Shame this is not legal to carry in UK as it's a superb knife. Real quality and tactile feel - hard to put down.

Inexpensive, quality and robust little knife

    Posted by J on 15th Jul 2016

I've been using the stone wash version and coupled with the size and deep carry clip, it's a nice and discreet knife to use. Holds an edge well and locks up pretty tight, Solved the problem of a small handle by attaching a small lanyard, this also assisted with grip as the handle was smoother then I expected. Only real issue I found for me was on opening the blade using the thumb studs. One can't get enough purchase on the stud as the edge of the handle is to close to the stud when it's close - I think trimming the scale back a couple of millimetres could go a long way to help with this and add to the overall ease of use. Over all good quality, and robust little knife.
