    awesome wee knife

Posted by Jack the ghillie on 14th May 2015

I love this wee knife . I usually don't buy anything smaller than 6 inches but this has been so useful i find myself going to it more than any of my other knives. Also the convenience of having round your neck is better than you might think. It doesn't fall out all the time if at all it doesn't itch or scratch you.
I find it's great for skinning as your thumb lies non top of it nicely giving great control for skinning and detailed wood work. Its a neat, useful, sturdy and reliable knife. I think maybe slightly over priced for what it is but you'll certainly get £25 of use out of it.
It's a bit hard to sharpen especially on anything automatic like grinder belt ect so just invest some time with an oil stone.
The sheath holds it well and seems sturdy enough. I've worn it for three days straight and it hasn't let me down yet.

    Interesting knife, fantastic servcice

Posted by Philip on 1st Nov 2014

When the Windfang was delivered I thought it was smaller and lighter than I had expected. I guess the problem was that I had paid more attention to the picture and not the specs. However, the knife was interesting so I decided to keep it. On reflection it would be perfect as a small knife for Bushcraft use, use this as opposed to a folding lock knife I was also looking for. So time will tell if I made the right decision. However it wasn't very sharp, but I had bought a DC3 at the same time and after a few stokes and a stropping I was like a razor, shaved with it to be sure.
One great thing is HH service, I advise not to pay extra for a faster delivery, I ordered at 23.30 on Tuesday and it was delivered 9.30 on Saturday. Now that is service!

    Exactly what I expected

Posted by Simon on 31st May 2014

It was, as apparently most other Condor knives, completely blunt. I actually had to reprofile the grind. But that's not to difficult and can be done on a course whetstone in half and hour. Despite what some have said, you don't really need to pay a knife smith to make a Condor knife sharp. C'mon people. Be serious. It doesn't really make a knife better or worse just because it came dull (or sharp). This little one is exactly what I needed. Something small and very light. Something I can carry with me all the time and pretty much forget it's there. It'll be much stronger than any folding knife yet just as compact. You can wrap it round with paracord and have a metre of it to hand should you ever need it. Plus, since it's a high carbon steel, you can use it to make fire with a piece of flint if that's how you like to start your fires. Pretty nice little thing.
