    Surprisingly Effective

Posted by Roy on 22nd Feb 2018

I need(ed) a Parang style Machete fot my work.
As this was the cheapest, I went for it.

Inital impressions..too light, it bends, but has an orange handle.

Then I realise I have the technique of a Octopus, so I stop using like an axe, relax and let the Eco Parang do the work..and it does just that.

Too summise, with correct technique it's pretty amazing, and it seems to get better as my technique improves.

(I've been using it to cut Ivy stems from oak trees, from 3cm to 15cm (1" to 6" approx), when I can't get a Saw in, to do the task.)

    Don't underestimate this one

Bought this so that the women in my family might help with bramble clearance. Have already got the bushcraft parang and wanted something a bit smaller. First impressions were that it was too light and and a bit short. and wouldn't do the job. I couldn't have been wrong. This little beauty does 95% of what the bushcraft parang does but it is far more "flickable" and easier on the arm after a few hours. It's cheaper too! Buy it and you will not be disappointed. "Junglecrafty" on YT is absolutely right.... Lighter is better.
