Condor knives are made in El Salvador. The company, however, originated in Solingen during the 18th century. It is this history which is partly responsible for their manufacture of such excellent and usable knives and tools. The Boomslang is one of Condor`s Larger knives with a blade length of 29cm.

Like all Condor knives it is a tough and highly practical outdoor brush clearance tool priced very reasonably. Supplied with a leather sheath.

    Looks Great

Posted by ERB on 23rd Aug 2015

The knife looks great and comes with a good quality leather sheath. Pretty sharp too and makes easy work of cutting branches. The thing that lets it down a bit for me is the sheath, don't get me wrong its good quality but a loose fit for the knife. The knife can easily fall out as you move around which always worries me. If the sheath had something to hold the knife inplace that would be great, iv used a maxpedition tack tie on mine for now so I am able to wear the knife while moving round without the danger of it falling out onto by foot.

It has a good weight witch makes it much easier when tackling larger tasks, the blade is nearly completely covered with a protective coating. The only unprotected part it the edge. I did notice a slight discolouring on the exposed edge after minimum use which i thought could be rust. But after and oil and a sharpen this went away. So i think its just a blade you need to take good care of to keep it in top shape.

Lovely camp knife. I can't say I'm the biggest fan of the micarta handle material, sounds like a small chip is lose inside but it is sturdy stuff and very easy to replace if you wanted to make your own handle. Not the biggest advocate of Condor sheaths, not bad for factory made but the swivel belt loop gets lose very quickly. However, for the price I recon it deserves a four out of five with a great design and great corrosion resistance.

Never mind the quality feel the width

Posted by Chris Walton on 14th Sep 2012

Bought this from HH back in April. It's a monster of a knife and a good bit cheaper than other big knives of this size but all is not perfect.

Firstly, the edge on this is so acute as to almost resemble a chisel. It boggles the mind how Condor thought this was a good idea for a large camp knife. Unless you do something to round off the shoulders this will not cut/chop well.

Secondly, the micarta handle scales were mis-matched. One was very obviously longer than other. Quality control and fit/finish seem to be alien concepts to be people at Condor.

Never the less this is not a totally duff knife. I decided to take the imperfections on the chin and modify it by reprofiling the edge, replacing the handle and stripping off the nasty black paint job. It was/is a nice little project but fresh out of the box this is not the knife of your dreams.
