The Cold Steel Canadian Belt Knife takes inspiration from a 1950’s classic. It has all the features that made the original an award-winning, international favorite. Cold Steel's more contemporary version is made out of 4116 Krupp Stainless steel and hollow ground to a razor edge. It will glide through just about any material because its elliptical profile is very efficient at reducing cutting drag.

The Polypropylene handle is equally efficient, fitting snugly in virtually any hand. It’s slightly offset in relation to the blade to keep one’s fingers safely out of the way. Light and tough enough to endure hard knocks, it will never break or fall apart in the way a traditional wood handle is prone to do.

This 2-ounce blade comes complete with a pouch style black Cordura sheath. It’s light, slim and compact enough to carry on your belt or slung from a cord around your neck day in and day out.

    Great.

As a cheap copy of one of the best fixed knife designs available it's great value for the money, the only difference between this and a Grohmann is that it isn't a full-tang knife however I'd probably rather use this in the kitchen where it honestly could replace most kitchen knives. It's also great for woodcarving.

    Mora beater!

Posted by Martin on 25th Sep 2015

Having been tempted by a Gronhamm Belt Knife online research indicated that this Cold Steel version was just a good (with the exception of the sheath) for 20% of the cost. Having arrived less tha 24 hours after ordering I am really impressed. The design is strange but works completely. A good slicer it has a place at the camp site or kitchen. Razor sharp out of the box. OK it would not win awards for aesthetic quality vs the original but just like a Mora it 'works' brilliantly. If you fancy trying something different or as an alternative to a Mora do not hesitate.

A great all round knife. Good steel a very good skinner or fishing knife and cheaper that some Mora knives.

    CANT GO WRONG

This is a great little knife for £15 and the sheath is not bad either, for a cheap knife I mean. it came razor sharp and cuts meat like a dream. Makes a excellent secondary in your kit alongside say a srk san mai3. Excellent service from heinnie.

    Good for the money

I bought one of these primarily for camp cooking and it works well for this. Handle is very lightweight and mine required a little sanding to feel right. Sheath ok. Blade takes a good edge and seems decently strong. A good knife for light to moderate work, light enough to make a good expedition backup. I have slight reservations about how strong the handle would be for heavier usage, but a good knife for £15.
