How to pack a rucksack for travel?

 

Your heaviest item should go into your backpack first, for example your tent. You may wish to put your sleeping bag next to it to balance out the weight. The closer to your back the heavy items are the easier it will be to position the backpack above your hips which will alleviate discomfort. 

 

Anything you want to easily access such as travel documents or snacks should be positioned towards the top of your backpack for easy access. Ensure items that contain liquid are kept in dry bags and stuff sacks to avoid the contents of your bag getting wet if anything leaks.
