I have the Exskelibur 1, which opens with a front flipper. That flipper disappears on this knife and, with the absence of a nail groove, you are left with jimping with which you use to open the blade (if you want one-handed deployment. Fortunately I had watched reviews on YouTube and had seen the very slow and arduous way the reviewers were forced to open it. After my review of the CRKT Persian Folder (in which I raved about the Kwik Thumb Stud) I made sure I ordered one at the same time. It is now a totally different knife. The Kwik Thumb Stud very quickly looks part of the knife and opening it is a breeze. The knife is superb now. It can be flicked open one-handed or opened slowly, but both ways are done smoothly. Just add another £7 to the price of the knife when you come to buy, it is cheap enough anyway. One thing, the Cocobolo is really nice but it was put into the box while the stain/varnish was still wet. My knife had stuck to the Boker paperwork in the box and one side was dull and looked unpolished. Not enough for me to send it back though and after polishing it up myself by hand, you would never know what happened. I have come to love Boker Plus knives, having the Exskelibur 1 and Bullpup, and this is no exception. It has immediately become my 'go to' for anything I need a (very) sharp blade for. It is much easier to handle, for my smaller hands, and would be the one I carried every day if not for our strict laws.
