The Boker Barlow Prime Expedition, which has significantly shorter bolsters, is equipped in this version with contoured handle scales in olive green Canvas Micarta, while bolster and liners are made of matt blasted brass. The resulting colour contrast is reminiscent of the privation-laden expeditions of discovery in times long past.

The satin-finished blade is made of ice-hardened N690 with 60 to 61 HRC, opened and unlocked with two hands by nail nick. It is equipped with a modern, elongated ricasso, the slipjoint's operating safety is increased by a 90° stop when opening and closing.

The characteristic teardrop shape of the Barlow can be traced back to the English pocket knives of the 17th century, making it certainly one of the oldest models of all. Handmade in the Boker knife manufactory Solingen.

    Boker expedition folder.

Posted by Chris Bray on 22nd Nov 2023

I like everything about this lovely little folder, fit and finish is spot on, blade well centered. Flush back spring on half stop and when open. Smooth transitions all round. Lovely walk and talk. The N690 appears to be well heat treated, quite hard but can achieve a good edge with diamond hones. All in a great knife, but Boker have been making knives for a long time. I don’t think anyone will be disappointed with this knife.

Boker Barlow Prime Expedition Folding Knife

Posted by Phil on 1st Nov 2023

Small and compact pocket knife, really nice fit and finish with no sharp edges . Very light in the pocket, would have given 5 stars as the quality is very nice, but the blade was dull out of the box.
