Rock solid and tight as a drum.

Posted by Kav on 19th Feb 2017

This knife is rock solid, a little too much so in some respects. The overall appearance of this knife is very appealing. The blade geometry is very good, being partially hollow ground with a reverse tanto tip for extra strength. The blade steel is an unspecified 440 stainless, but the knife arrived very sharp and has kept its edge well. The ergonomics are excellent. The knife fills the hand comfortably and the handle scales afford a secure grip. The gimping on the thumb ramp is effective. It carries reasonably well despite being quite a large knife and its excellent pocket clip allows it to disappear in pocket. The back lock mechanism is locks the blade in place very securely; there is not the slightest hint of blade play in any direction. In fact, it would be easy to forget that this is actually a folding knife and not a fixed blade, so solid is the lock up. There is a lot to like about the BF105. This knife does have an achilles heel, however. Even after quite a bit of use, adjustment of the pivot and liberal application of oil, it is still extremely difficult to open with one hand. It has loosened up slightly over time, but not by much. Overall, it is a good, solid knife, but its reluctance to deploy is disappointing. The flip side of this is that the chances of it opening accidentally in pocket and causing injury are zero.

    NEARLY 5 STARS

    Posted by GRANT.E on 30th Dec 2015

AGREE WITH BOTH REVIEWS,AND FOR £30 IT IS PRETTY DAMN GOOD. I WOULD OF GIVEN IT 5STARS BUT MINE CAME WITH THE BLADE GRIND BEING OUT RIGHT ON THE TIP OF ALL PLACES. AFTER ABOUT 15 MINS ON THE DIAMOND PLATE AND ABOUT 15MIN ON THE RODS GOT IT TO SOMETHING LIKE,BUT YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE TO DO THAT. DONT MIND SHARPENING BUT REGRIND? ITS NEARLY AS IT SHOULD OF BEEN AND A SHAME BUT NOT A BAD LITTLE KNIFE ALL IN. EVERYTHING ELSE WAS BOB ON

This is great well balanced little folder. Knocks the SOGzilla for 6. Much better blade shape for general use and a lot sharper otb. Absolutely love it! Usual service from HH brilliant!

    Blackfox Tactical 105

Posted by Stuart Marshall on 12th Jul 2013

This knife is very impressive especially for the money. It's weighty in the hand, ergonomically sound and sharp out of the box. The blade lock is positive with no play in the blade and the finish is top notch. The hinge was a bit gritty at first but a good oil wash soon sorted that out. I would highly recommend this knife. If you're looking for quality on a budget or like me - another knife to add to a collection, don't hesitate and just buy one.
