The Black Fox Skål is a brilliant little folder for so many cutting tasks, indoors outdoors or both. The blade is non-locking with an extended tang which helps to keep the blade secure during use and allows the blade to be deployed quickly and easily. It is supplied with a Kydex sheath and neck cord allowing it to be carried hands free.

Not only is it a very handy little tool but it is also cracking quality. The blade is 440C stainless steel whilst the handle is textured, pitted G10. The tang also doubles as a bottle opener.

    Great neck knife

Posted by Oli on 20th Aug 2020

Fast service from HH as usual which is always a plus.

The Skal is pretty tiny, you hardly see it when wearing it around the neck (it comes with a thin paracord and formed click-in sheath).

Friction folders are my favourites and this one does not disappoint. The build is solid, the blade would survive a (tiny) zombie apocalypse. It came sharpish out of the box, more than enough to be happy with.

It is surprisingly comfortable in hand, just remember your thumb is your safety lock! The are no springs or locks just like a Svord or other Piemont type knives. Big plus for the scales, they are nicely detailed and grippy. My first thought was that I would replace them with home made bog oak scales but they will stay. Maybe I will get the Outdoor Edge Slinky later and customise it.

All in all great addition to the collection. You won't chop a tree with it but it would be good enough for everyday tasks and opening beer bottles on trips.

    Not bad.

Strong little tool. I like it, the sheath is great. The lanyard it came with will be replaced, but it's ok. Would have liked to see a picture of it in a hand on the website. But I still think it's a handy little tool that fits in where a larger one isn't necessary.

    Expensive bottle opener

Posted by Neil on 11th May 2019

First off, HH service 1st class as always, the knife however is rubbish, it arrived blunt, the opening was far too stiff and impossible to open one handed if you have normal human sized hands and not primordial dwarf hands, the G10 (green) has little black marks in it, overall worst knife I've ever purchased

    Sweet little edc

Posted by Sam on 20th Apr 2019

Great little folder in my opinion from the few days ive been carrying it. It has a nice look to it without being intimidating, sharp out of the box and pleasant ergonomics.
Would definitely reccomend and might even pick up another in the green colour.

    Sturdy little knife

Posted by Rachael on 18th Apr 2019

I've had mine a couple of days now and it's a big little knife it has a nice sturdy blade that came sharpish out the box but touched up is now hair popping sharp, I like the neck sheaf which holds the knife really well but I have swapped the paracord for a chain just a personal preference all in all it is a great little knife that's also uk friendly

    Great little knife.

Posted by John Price on 16th Apr 2019

This is a great little EDC knife that is well-made and fairly sharp out of the box. The grip is comfy enough and my large hand can just get three fingers on it so I suspect a lanyard will be going on to aid that. The sheath is a bonus too and very secure, needing a good tug to clear the knife from it. Very handy overall and even less threatening than my Spyderco UK. Same usual superb service from Heinnies whom I suspect use Star Trek transporters to beam the items out to customers as they arrive so fast.

    Surprising

Posted by David on 5th Feb 2019

Shocked it arrived blunt, would not cut paper. So not off to a great start. After I put edge on, found it small for my hand so put a square lanyard on. After destroying a lot of heavy duty cardboard today I was surprised how well it has held its edge. It has quite a thick spine for a narrow blade, easily baton matchsticks.
I have replaced the neck cord with a breakaway paracord one, just in case it gets caught while parkoring, ( not really I'm fat and crippled)
While it's a great little knife it won't replace my boker Xs as my legal carry, but the I live by 1 is none, 2 is one.
It would be nice if HH could put a picture in the hand on future small knives.
