Black Fox Skål

Bought one of these recently and haven't used it much yet but it's decent. It arrived reasonably sharp and is handy to have as an every day knife (especially the bottle opener!). The only down side to it, is with it being a small knife, the handle is a bit small for larger hands, but I bought it knowing this might be the case and haven't marked it down for this because this is due to the size of my hands and not an issue with the knife it's self.

Wow, what a fantastic thin this is. Razor sharp small knife in massively underrated c440 steel and a bottle opener and a kydex sheath included...what an utterly useable bargain ! You ould spend much much more and get nothing better, how good do you need a steel to be on a knife like this. It can cope with a lot of you bigger jobs too....Great for box opening and cutting g packaging or opening food in the field. Able to whittle and cut paracord...magic

While the title is arguable it's certainly the best one I have had to date and I can happily recommend it as a worthwhile option. It's small, UK legal, well designed and built. The bottle opener adds confidence that it is not going to close on you in use. Best of all it will hold an edge and doesn't cost the earth to replace. Aa good balance of value for money and usability. This knife will be used rather than sitting in a drawer as too expensive to risk loosing.

I wasn't really sure what to expect with this one, bit of an impulse purchase because it looked cute. I was very pleasantly surprised! Nice robust G10 scales with excellent grip, very small but chunky so you can get a good grip on it. It really does feel very solid, partly due to the unusually thick 3.5mm blade stock. I had heard that these aren't that sharp out of the box but mine came genuinely shaving-sharp, really quite amazing considering the thickness. The friction folder tang is well designed and - at least in my smallish hands - is very ergonomic, keeping the blade open securely when held properly. I honesty can't fault it, I guess for some it might be a bit too small, but I think it's a perfect size to keep in your 5th pocket and offers a really robust and useful blade with integrated bottle opener. Highly recommended!

Having watched a few YT vids on this little tool and being a fan of a friction folder I took the olunge. It's a pleasing thing to have. The bottle cap lifter works welll ... The blade was reasonably sharp, dang love that shape! The handle is nice and grippy and not as rubbery as I thought it might be from the pictures. It's quite a thick blade that dosen't lend itself to fruit peeling. As a pullout box opener etc It'll do the do. I've done a bit of whittling with it and with twigs/small branches it's actually not bad for a little roughing out. The blade sits safely in the handle - safe enough for a jacket pocket. The neck option is very good, although it's not my thing. It doea clip in with confidence and feels totally secure enough to be a perfectly viable option if that is your preferance. I really like the quirk of the green handle - it really suits imo. If you like what you see in the pics/vids then you'll not be disapointed with this in person. Fast service from HH as usual which is always a plus. The Skal is pretty tiny, you hardly see it when wearing it around the neck (it comes with a thin paracord and formed click-in sheath). Friction folders are my favourites and this one does not disappoint. The build is solid, the blade would survive a (tiny) zombie apocalypse. It came sharpish out of the box, more than enough to be happy with. It is surprisingly comfortable in hand, just remember your thumb is your safety lock! The are no springs or locks just like a Svord or other Piemont type knives. Big plus for the scales, they are nicely detailed and grippy. My first thought was that I would replace them with home made bog oak scales but they will stay. Maybe I will get the Outdoor Edge Slinky later and customise it. All in all great addition to the collection. You won't chop a tree with it but it would be good enough for everyday tasks and opening beer bottles on trips.

Strong little tool. I like it, the sheath is great. The lanyard it came with will be replaced, but it's ok. Would have liked to see a picture of it in a hand on the website. But I still think it's a handy little tool that fits in where a larger one isn't necessary.
