    Not so sure

Posted by Samc on 27th Oct 2019

Feels heavy in the handle and a little odd in the hand. Although chocked up it feels nice in the hand.
Handle is so smooth that if you were using with wet hands and taking a swing at anything, there is a very high chance it would fly out your hand.
If you are picking this up to sit pretty on your shelf or for occasional use, it is a 5 star knife. If you're heading out on an expedition and you need a life saving tool, look elsewhere.

    Great knife

Posted by Dom on 31st Jul 2015

I was slightly sceptical before I got this knife about the handle shape but all doubts were cast aside immediately! This knife fits perfectly in the hand even when choked up...speaking of which; when the knife is held like this it is perfectly balanced and you feel comfortably in control of this relatively large blade. The shape of the blade makes it perfect for chopping tasks, it cuts through even thick pieces of wood with ease. If your considering getting this but are not sure...JUST GET IT! You will not be disappointed!
As always perfect service from HH

    Sartorial elogance with teeth

Posted by Mart on 4th Nov 2013

Don't be fooled by the awkward looking handle or the delicate blade shape. This knife fits the hand perfectly and is a great piece of steel. It has got elegant lines but this knife is also a serious bit of kit. A good all-rounder that will chop. Blade heavy in the grip but perfectly balanced when choked up. A perfectly situated choil and good gimping mean that close up controlled cutting is a real pleasure. Very well ground, really nicely finished, classic lines...what more could you want for just over half a century? Well a slightly better sheath would be good.
The retention on the sheath isn't that bad, tbh, and the main body of it is solid but the belt loop feels flimsy and the retention starp is in the worst possible place. I resolved the issues I had with the sheath by cutting off the belt loop and redesigning it. However, this will NOT be the last BlackFox I buy. Aside from the sheath this really is an excellent all round knife.
HH? As usual really excellent service.

    Looks allright

Posted by Michal on 19th Feb 2012

That's my first knife from Black Fox, and this one looks quite good. Blade sharp enough to slice tomato, heavy enough to cut medium size branches. 440 steel prevents any rust. Sheath basic, but functional-no need to have more...I like the shape, but for such a tasks like chopping, spliting maybe straight blade would be better? As I said, I like it, but that's not my only knife for camping and I might use others like Condor Varan, or Ontario Rat 7...Service and delivery always perfect!
