5 stars for HH - excellent service as usual 4 1/2 for Benchmade but my early knives were razor sharp but the more I have bought- the blunter they seem to come Only takes a few minutes to lift the edge to a good working edge on a water stone or strop Sign of the times I suppose
I love this blade the fit and finish is very nice. I always wanted a decent fl**k knife or one of those fancy OTF daggers but due to UK laws we don’t get that option. This however makes a very good alternative, the action is very fast and smooth and the quality is awesome. 5 star service as always from Heinnie Haynes
Had some cash from the OWB compensation scheme so decided to treat myself to my first Benchmade. Really, really good feal in the hand. Bit 'gritty' opening and closing for the first week or so but smoothed out and now flies open and closes just as well. The grind is uneven, one side is ground more than the other so afraid it drops a star - I wish I'd sent it back and asked for a replacement but never got around to it. Altogether, apart from the grind being uneven, I like this knife and don't regret getting it all all. Usual HH blindingly good service etc. etc. Can't comment this time on the lightning delivery as I drove down and picked it up from the warehouse :-)
Have been carrying this little gem for a week or two now. When it arrived I thought the Axis Lock felt a little stiff a bit strange compared to other Benchmade’s (having seen a video online I now know It’s because they use a different omega spring that is being trialled on this knife, less width and stronger than the normal springs they use because of the ergonomics of the handle) after a few days and a bit of oil it’s smooth as butter. The grind Issues with Benchmade’s of late seems to be getting better, pretty much perfect on this one but wasn’t as razor sharp out of the box as usual, soon sorted out with a diamond steel/sharpening stone. And of course the usual 5 star servise from Heinnie Haynes
I have really enjoyed Benchmade folders with the axis lock for over a decade, they have a great, smooth, opening mechanism. With a little practice they open and close one handed. The blade is a classic stiletto shape and arrived very sharp, possibly the sharpest I’ve ever seen OTB. This knife comes from the Benchmade “Black range”, described by them as “Extreme Duty” tools. It is certainly my recommendation for anybody who needs to cut “stuff” regularly.
