      Great for gardening

Posted by Pompey Lad on 24th Sep 2020

I really love this knife, it’s perfect for gardening at my allotment as it comes with a belt clip and it’s lightweight so doesn’t weigh me down plus it’s part serrated which is perfect for cutting twine/rope etc, and the flat part of the blade for compost bags snd other tasks, it would also be great for camping for some jobs or for a younger persons first camping/gardening knife. The handle has got a really good rubber grip which is excellent for damp or wet hands or with gloves on, good lock too, I really do love this knife, the second one I’ve bought and for the price you can’t go wrong, I highly recommend it.

      No good

      Posted by myeung16 on 24th Aug 2014

Got this as a gift, friend wasn't really in to the knife world so he just went for the famous "Bear Grylls" knife. Steel was horrible didn't have to take it out, 20 cuts through card boards and the edge is half gone, wonder why they didn't write out steel specs. Loose blade plays, usually doesn't bother me that much, but combined with the bad steel just seem overall cheap, handle was ok, which is where my 1 star goes to. If you are interested in a heavy duty folder, save up and go for a Recon1 or maybe the Endura. For similar price Rat1 or Tenacious will own this one, at least they have a proper blade that holds an edge.

      Terrible

Posted by Unknown on 11th Sep 2012

Aside from it being really visible on the ground, there's not much else to say about it, positively anyway. It's not legal carry, so Scouts can't use it. Terry from Hemel Hempstead will possibly be locked up, buying ten of them for his group. It's also c*** quality. You'd have been better off spending the money on Swiss Army knives tbh.

      Cheap gimmicky rubbish

Posted by Sam on 9th Aug 2012

I bought this as a Grylls fan being very aware of how bad it could potentially be - and I was correct. Ridiculous side-to-side play Gerber rubbish 'mystery steel' dulls almost immediately. Nice grippy rubbery texture, which is needed because the pathetic excuse for jimping certainly offers no traction whatsoever. It weighs very little since there are no steel liners, only cheap chinese plastic handles, and has a deep carry pocket clip, so it could potentially be a useful EDC and should cope adequately for most people. For £30, you either need to be a massive Bear Grylls fan or you'd have to be very easily pleased and have more money than sense. Steer clear from Gerber as a company, let alone the gimmick that is the Bear Grylls line. Very poor quality indeed.

      stumpy

Posted by Iain hughes on 29th Mar 2012

I bought one for work about 4 months ago and use it all the time, it keeps a good edge and with being bright it's easy to locate on the ground. The grip is is firm and comfortable but is beginning to show wear already where my finger goes round. My only dislike is the belt clip but that is just personal preference not a fault on the knife. All in all I would recomend this knife to people who need a hard working knife with a relativley small blade and off the back of this I bought the ultimate knife.

      Great Knife

Posted by Gerry C on 30th Mar 2011

Solid build, nice and sharp. Also, it's not illegal to carry if you have good reason for carrying it. If you are outdoors scouting, that is good reason. Every scout needs a knife, and it is ridiculous to imagine that they should be expected to go outdoors without one.

      Good Little Lock Knife

Posted by Kev Barrass on 29th Mar 2011

Mine arrived today, and for the money its a solid well made knife. Already used it around the garden and cut up a ton of boxes. Seems to hold a good edge. Came very sharp, lovely grippy handle, good blade shape. Highly recommended. Nice to see Bear Grylls putting his name on a good knife that is within most peoples budget.

Wow, just what we've been waiting for - I've just ordered ten of these for our bushcraft camp this spring - bright colours, easy to find, nice blade, just what I need.
