    Not bad, some minor points

Posted by Chris on 8th Jun 2016

I got the knife for heavy outdoor tasks. Its a big old beast, but you knew that already. The grind looks more defined in the pics, but I'm quickly getting used to the slightly softer blade. Its seemingly incredibly capable. I'll not list specs...

The thing I was a little let down by was the sheath. Its very slapdash. Stitching was off, edges badly finished, a proper fight to get the blade in.

It'll hold... No doubt. But I'm relegating it to "permanently attached to the backpack" and making a proper replacement. I know that sheaths are usually bad, but I was hoping for a touch more. Overall, very happy.

    Strike Force

Posted by SteelHeadSteve on 19th Jan 2016

I saw a video on Youtube by "TheApostleP" titled - "Escanaba Trip 2". It's all about Bark River Knives and the owner Mike Stewart, who also started Blackjack Knives and has 40 years of manufacturing under his belt. It's worth watching the video, just to listen to his opinion on various steels. Anyway, I had to have one, enter the Strike Force. This is a semi- custom, and it is beautiful. Hand sharpened (convex edge) and hand finished tip to butt. Blade - 6.6" long. Handle - 4.85" long. Stock - 6.3mm thick. Extended tang - 10mm long. Balance point - just behind the hilt. All specs. approx. It has a palm-swell handle, and the thumb-ramp has jimping. The convex edge on mine is flawless. The blade is etched A2. It arrives with a tough well-made leather scabbard with a mil-spec snap. There is a Youtube video of the Strike Force. Thanks to HH for a great price. I am very pleased with my purchase. I am now going to oil the blade and make a cup of tea !
