The Artisan Biome is a UK carry folder with loads of high end, quality features for not a great deal of cash. It's standout feature is the flat ground Swedish Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel blade and of course it is non-locking and under three inches long so can be carried out and about in the UK with a degree of discretion.

There is a choice of "natural", blue or black G10 handle. It's a tough material which will handle hard use.

    Cracking small folder

Posted by Richard on 26th May 2021

I really like this knife. It is small, light weight, feels great open in the hand and is perfect for those small every day tasks. Due to its size the absence of a pocket clip is no problem, it sits comfortably at the bottom of your pocket.

A lovely UK carry. Much better made than the price would suggest.

    Lightweight but strong.

I bought this recently and when it arrived (very quickly from Heinnie) I thought "Oh Oh it is very light", but once opened and inspected it closely I am very pleased with this beauty. It came with an OK sharpness to the blade but once lightly honed it retains a razor edge slicing through paper with ease. The handle is comfortable to hold and the blade is held open with a spring that is positive but not too strong (such as the Boker Plus Worldwide). There is no "wobble" to the open blade and although the handle is slim it appears strong to use. Its Legal to carry in the UK, lightweight & slim to keep in a pocket. Even though it has "China" marked on the blade it also has "Ser 1840P Swedish Sandvik" and 12C27N beneath it. I am not up to date with all that but if it was made in China it does seem to have a Swedish quality of manufacture. Closed, it can disappear inside a pocket or bag and yet will be a very competent cutting knife when needed. Originally I bought this as a workshop tool but can see this being with me all the time for general use. The finish on the blade is very clean and classy so I cannot see myself using this as a prying tool or rough work as it would be a shame to see this misused. With any precise cutting, (I have big hands but I can still hold this comfortably), I can see it as a pleasing knife to have with me. The old saying "You get what you pay for" is relevant here, the price is not cheap, but I have no problems with buying this knife. Heinnie Haynes have treated me very well with customer service and very quick delivery so overall I am a happy customer. I would never use this or any knife as a weapon but feel glad that I can legally carry this tool with me to use as I need when I need. It is a shame that idiots and violent people inhibit the vast majority from carrying most knifes but here is a pleasing option. Be safe, be fair and respect others.
