Since Anza was born in 1980 they have produced a range of handmade affordable knives for sportsman and collectors. Anza's knives are so sharp and hold an edge they have become favorite among guides, outfitters, hunters, backpackers, fishermen as well as a utility knife by the "workingman".
They chose to make their knives from files because a file is an excellent source of high carbon tool steel. Through a process called annealing, they remove the brittleness normally found in a file. The knives are then hand ground to shape, a handle, commonly known as Dymondwood is then added, and final finishing, polishing and sharpening are then completed. The final result is a beautifully made knife that will both hold an edge and sharpen easily.
The Anza Boddington was designed by C.T. Boddington in collaboration with Anza founder and master craftsman Charlie Davis. C.T. Boddington is a noted outdoors writer, shooter, big game hunter, safari hunter and all around authority on the outdoors world. This knife is designed to serve you well in your field needs and to possibly save your life. The lanyard loop can serve a practical purpose... or crack through something solid. The rough black micarta grip looks and feels great. Micarta is designed to provide a firm grip even when wet with some kind of substance. The knife has been blued, and can easily be touched up (if required) with cold-blued application. This knife comes with a leather sheath.
