Andre de Villiers is a South African designer, maker, who has an almost obsessive sense of quality. Nothing leaves his workshop until absolutely perfect.

His Impi Burlwood is a beautifully crafted hefty little folder which is acceptable to carry in the UK at the owner's discretion, due to the non-locking blade under three inches long.

The blade is D2 Tool steel with a wide, flat ground profile ideally suited to so many tasks or just for looking at! The handle is made using a combination of stainless steel and Burlwood with a shield on one side for engraving if desired. There is also a lanyard loop at the end of the tang to attach a lanyard of your choice.

Just right for Collection or EDC

Posted by Stephen on 8th Sep 2020

Collection or EDC. I’ve been using this knife and carrying it for about eight months now. All I’ve had to do is keep it clean look after it keep it razor sharp and you’ve got a knife that is easy to pull out, Without worrying about nail Nick. As you can just pull on the blade with the Fuller with ease. I’ve have a micro, and a impi butcher for my collection. Great quality well recommended. Thanks hh

    My new favourite

Posted by Slick on 27th Jul 2018

At over £300, this would have to be my new favourite, or I'd have sent it back! I didn't send it back! Although it's a sub 3 non-locker, it has some proper heft in my hand and I really like that. It also has a decent quality feel to it and it's sufficiently sharp for me to give myself a decent, though painless cut to my finger. The quality and variety of finishes is great, but perhaps not quite as good as my PK70s, and I could've had both of them for less than the cost of this one! So, I've mentioned the cost twice, what does that mean? Was this overpriced? Well, no, I don't think it was, and to prove it, I'm planning on buying another, a pocket butcher. I also have my eye on one or two of the micros as well. I'm smitten! I'm also investigating one of ADV's mid-tech or even custom butchers!
